This pleasant restaurant is in the beautifully restored Reliance Building and serves as the restaurant for the Hotel Burnham in the same building. On the corner of State & Washington, the location is ideal for shoppers and theatergoers. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch & dinner. On one visit, we shared an excellent graham crusted calamari, chicken quesadillas and the tuna carpaccio. For an entree, I had the NY strip steak with creamed spinach and a potato brie gratin. On another visit, I started with the spinach salad with pears, walnuts & goat cheese. For an entree, I enjoyed the grilled pork chop served on sauerkraut with spaetzle and carmelized apples. I also tried the butterfish served on a leek risotto which was wonderful.  We also tasted the pistachio crusted warm goat cheese salad. The lunch menu has a choice of several starters and salads as well as sandwiches and some of the dinner menu entrees. Several of the people I was with ordered the pot pie special. The filling is changed daily and on the day of our visit, it was chicken. The filling was thick and creamy with large pieces of chicken and the herb biscuit topping looked great. I also enjoyed the grilled ahi tuna sandwich. I tasted two of the desserts, the creme brulee and the chocolate cake with mocha ice cream. Both were wonderful. The wine list is small but adequate. The service was very friendly and attentive.
