FRENCH $$ 4/29/04This restaurant has been around since the early 1970's and continues to serve delicious French country food without pretense or gimmicks. The appetizers range from duck or country pate to baked brie to mussels to escargot en croute. The entrees include rack of lamb, filet of beef au poivre, grilled salmon with a cabernet sauvignon sauce, pork loin with a dried cherry sauce and cassoulet. I had the lamb and it was perfectly prepared on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes. The wine list is small and moderately expensive but there is a good selection.
