The owner of Zia's Trattoria has opened a French bistro in the spot formerly housing Nam Viet Restaurant. It has been open since the beginning ofd August 2009 and is still suffering from the adjustment. The space has been transformed into an authentic looking bistro with some outdoor seating and a beautiful bar. The menu is classic with escargot, mussels, and pates. The escargot were properly garlicky and the mussels were delicious if slightly oversalted. The frisee salad with warm goat cheese was good but too peppery. I had the pork medallions with apples and Calvados with potato gratin which I enjoyed. The risotto with gruyere and truffle oil was soupy and lacked any truffle flavor. The profiteroles were served with warm chocolate sauce on the side. Service was good but could improve.
