Opened in November 2005, this large open airy restaurant is just a little south of the rest of the South Loop development and not quite in Chinatown. There are large windows overlooking Wabash Avenue. The restaurant has a large comfortable bar and several dining areas. The wine list is interesting though the prices are a little high. The menu is new Latin cooking and has a lot of exciting combinations. The empanadas were an excellent appetizer. For an entrees, I had the yucca-meal crusted boneless trout stuffed with rock shrimp. It was moist with a very nice crispy skin. It came on bacon sauted swiss chard. I did taste the black bean and plantain guisado which was delicious. I also had the double pork chop with plantain mole. For dessert, I had the flan Montado which was a hazelnut flan on a circle of chocolate cake with a coffee sauce. Service is always very good.
