In the heart of Jefferson Park, this Chicago institution has been around for about 40 years. It has a large comfortable bar and an exposed brick dining room. The service is friendly and efficient. The specialty of the restaurant is their BBQ: baby back ribs, chicken and pork chops. Entrees come with a choice of soup or salad, as well as a choice of potato. They make a delicious black bean soup. The warm loaf of bread comes with a sweet honey butter. During one visit, I had the prime rib special which was more than enough food for two meals. The grilled ahi tuna special came with delicious wasabi mashed potatoes. Previously, I enjoyed the BBQ pork chops which came with fried onions and broccoli. Their BBQ sauce is sweet with a nice bite at the end. The vegetable ravioli with a marinara sauce made with roasted tomatoes was wonderful. On my latest visit, I had the BBQ ribs and fried shrimp combo. The ribs were falling off the bone tender. There is a small wine list and a very good selection of wines by the glass.
