This is one of our favorite French bistros. Located on the edge of River North, the restaurant has a warm comfortable dining room. The menu is standard bistro fare but the quality & service are far above standard. On our latest visit I had the beet salad with hazelnuts and a special of pork tenderloin in a cognac cream sauce with polenta. Previously for appetizers, we shared the duck liver pate, the escargot in a garlic butter and the mussels provencale. For an entree, I had the steak frites. Lots of wonderful thin crispy fries. One of the specials was skate with capers and lemon. On another previous visit, I enjoyed the roast leg of lamb with ratatouille & polenta sticks. The roasted loup de mer with tomato & goat cheese was delicious. We've enjoyed the soft shell crabs, the grilled salmon & the duck breast. The pate appetizer is a very nice assortment. The wine list is mostly French with a varied selection, along with a few California wines. The service is knowledgeable & efficient.
