Located in the heart of downtown Wauconda, the Lakeside Inn has a very nice bar and several dining rooms. It has an old country inn feel and a very nice menu. Besides the standard burgers and the deep fried appetizers, the menu includes paninis and wraps as well as steaks, pastas and seafood. The wine list is adequate and there is a fine selection of beers on tap. For a late midweek lunch, the place was busy but the service was still good. I liked the grilled prime rib sandwich and the grilled ahi tuna sandwich. At another visit, I had the delicious chicken parmesan wrap.
