Las Tablas is a South American steak house owned by the same people who have a restaurant of the same name at 2942 N. Lincoln Avenue. The menu leans heavily to meat, steaks, chicken and pork. A selection of seafood, paellas and vegetarian dishes is also offered. I particularly enjoyed the churrasco, a char-grilled New York strip steak served with plantain, fried yuca, baked potato and chimichurri sauce. The char-grilled calamari served with rice, salad and yuca was also quite good. Music on the weekends will inhibit conversation. As opposed to their Lincon Avenue counterpart, this restaurant does have a liquor license. The wine list is small but moderately priced. The service is good.
