This is Lettuce Entertain You's wonderful French bistro on the site of the former Un Grand Cafe. The menu leans heavily to steaks & seafood. For starter, I had an excellent butter lettuce salad with apples and Gruyere. Previously we shared a delicious tomato salad with pickled red onions, gorgonzola & green beans. I enjoyed the steak frites with a roquefort sauce and with a Dijon sauce. The frites were sliced like ribbons and came piled high on the plate. I also liked the mussels mariniere which were flavored with a touch of garlic & a splash of cream. For dessert, the chocolate pecan tart was absolutely wonderful. The crust was thin and crunchy and the caramel sauce complimented to the dish. I also liked the profiteroles. On another visit, I had an excellent frisee and bacon salad and the special, Beef Wellington with frites. Instead of puff pastry, the fillet mignon was wrapped in phyllo. The wine list is all French and ranges from moderate to expensive. The fresh baguette in a paper bag for each table is a nice touch as is the shredded carrot salad brought to each table for starters.  The service is usually quite good.
