This is the original Lettuce Entertain You restaurant started by Rich Melman in about 1970 and the home of the first salad bar in Chicago. The salad bar is vast. It offers 2 varieties of soup & delicious chopped liver to go with all the other cold dishes. The menu leans heavily to burgers & chicken with some wraps. The burgers are big and juicy and the portion of cottage fries is large. The prices are reasonable and the location is close to the Zoo and the rest of the park. Turnover is quick but expect a wait, especially on weekends. The wine choices are limited and there is a nice assortment of beers. Service is friendly.
