Yoshi's Cafe has been around for more than 20 years serving French food with a Japanese flair. The comfortable dining rooms are light and airy. A handful of tables are outside for dining in good weather and a small bar is inside. On one visit, I had a trio of pates, duck liver, country pate and a pork rillette. The duck liver was luscious. For an entree, I had the beef tenderloin on a grilled polenta cake topped with portabello mushroom. On another visit we shared starters of the creamed leek and brie tart with an arugula salad and the tuna tartare on a bed of cucumbers and guacamole. Both were delicious. The tart was rich and creamy and the arugula provided a nice balance. The tuna was lightly seasoned with lime and very fresh. For an entree, I had the three mushroom risotto with white truffle oil which had a wonderful aroma and was very filling. The grilled scallops on a bed of tea-infused pasta with a pesto was also excellent. For dessert, we shared the lemon custard tart in a chocolate shell. Another dessert we tried was the warm chocolate pecan pie with ice cream and a caramel sauce. The service was very good. The wine list is manageable in size.
